Ritchie Bros. to Conduct Live Simulcast of Japan Auction at Brisbane Site - A Free Seminar Will Also

Educate Buyers About Purchasing Equipment From Japanese Market

BRISBANE, Australia, May 10 /CNW-AsiaNet/ --

On May 27, 2010, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE and TSX: RBA), the world's largest industrial auctioneer,

will conduct a live simulcast of its Narita, Japan auction at the Company's permanent auction site in Brisbane,

Australia. The auction will be broadcast in real time on a large theatre screen starting at approximately 10:00

a.m. (Brisbane time). The live simulcast of the Narita auction will provide Australians an opportunity to

participate in the Narita auction and find the equipment they need without having to leave the country.

Items being sold in the Narita auction include an assortment of Japanese brand equipment and late model

Caterpillar wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators and crawler tractors. Every item will be sold to the highest

bidder - regardless of price - with no minimum bids or reserve prices. On-site bidders can register at the

Brisbane auction site two days in advance of the live public auction simulcast.

"Our Narita auctions are providing a completely new market for our Australian customers to source

equipment from - a market that is reputed for featuring good quality gear buyers can put straight to work," said

Warwick Mackrell. "It's never been a better time for Australian buyers to purchase equipment from Japan. The

strength of the Australian dollar compared to the Japanese Yen and the ease of shipping between the two

countries make purchasing and shipping equipment from Japan to Australia very affordable right now."

Prior to the live Narita auction simulcast, Ritchie Bros. will also conduct a free seminar at 9:00 a.m.

(Brisbane time) at its Brisbane auction site explaining how to buy and transport equipment from Japan to

Australia. Transportation companies and customs brokers will also be on-site during the live simulcast to

assist customers with their shipping needs.
