Sydney Fish Market Takes Care of Christmas

24 December 2009

Sydney-siders have taken the hassle out of Christmas preparations by shopping through yesterday evening and into the early hours of this morning for their seafood supplies at Sydney Fish Market.

24-hours into the Sydney Fish Market 36-Hour Seafood Marathon, shoppers still have time to take the heat out of the kitchen this Christmas, with doors open until 5pm tonight.

Prawns, oysters and Snapper are the clear favourites for Christmas tables this year, with Sydney-siders on track to purchase more than 850 tonnes of seafood during the event.

Louise Nock, Marketing and Communications Manager said a visit to the annual 36-hour Seafood Marathon is part of many families' Christmas tradition. Sydney Fish Market helps to fill the pantry with produce from Waterside Fruit Connection, baked goods from Gregory's Hot Bread, alcohol from Fisherman's Fine Wines, endless catering supplies available from Blackwattle Deli, as well as last minute stocking fillers from Rosie's Gift Shop and blooms to decorate the table available from Waterfront Flowers.
