Honorary Life Membership of the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association is precious,
awarded rarely and in recognition of a significant, long-term contribution to the Association
as well as to healthcare in Australia.
"This year, the AHHA Board had great pleasure in awarding the Associations 10th Honorary
Life Membership to Professor Kathy Eagar," Prue Power, AHHA Executive Director, said
today.
"Kathy has given over twenty five years to the health and community sectors dividing her
time equally between being a clinician, a senior manager and a health academic. She is
currently Director of the Centre for Health Service Development where she leads a team of
40 researchers covering 18 disciplines. Her team has a national reputation reflecting a track
record of policy-relevant health services research and development focusing on the
translation of research findings into policy and practice.
"In this role, Kathy fosters and encourages a wide range of research topics, including health
service delivery, organisational performance, care coordination and integration, health
outcomes, health policy and management and health and community care financing.
"In addition, Kathy manages the Australasian Rehabilitation Outcomes Centre (AROC), the
Palliative Care Outcomes Collaboration (PCOC) and the National Casemix and Classification
Centre (NCCC). Kathy has also authored over 250 articles, papers and reports on
management, quality, outcomes, information systems and funding of the Australia and New
Zealand health and community care systems.
"The AHHA appreciates Kathys expertise and contributions to our policy development and is
proud to award her with Honorary Life membership, Ms Power said.
