NRMA Launches Extra Mile Awards: Calls for Patrol Stories

NRMA today launched the 'NRMA Extra Mile Awards' and is asking Members throughout NSW and the ACT to write in with their favourite patrol stories for the chance to win an NRMA holiday for themselves and the patrol they nominate.

The NRMA has launched the Extra Mile Campaign as part of its 90th birthday celebrations.

NRMA Group CEO Tony Stuart said NRMA patrols responded to over 1.5 million breakdowns last year and travelled almost eight million kilometres to reach stranded motorists.

"We want our Members to help us to acknowledge our patrols who have gone the extra mile to rescue a stranded motorist," Mr Stuart said.

"Some of the stories our Members share with us about their experiences on the road are truly remarkable; one of my favourites is when NRMA patrol Michael Hanna, was called to fix a battery last month but ended up delivering a baby.

"The top three reasons our Members call the NRMA are battery related, lost or locked keys in the car and flat tyres.

"NRMA patrols epitomise the True Blue. spirit of going the extra mile for someone in need and we want our Members to share how an NRMA patrol has helped them."

As part of NRMA.s 90th birthday celebrations winners will be selected by a panel of local representatives, with the opportunity to win:
*One of ten $100 fuel vouchers, or
*A well earned break at one of NRMA.s five holiday parks for them and the nominated patrol.

The winning patrol will also receive a $5,000 donation to the local charity of their choice.

Entries can be submitted via email to [email protected]; mail to Extra Mile Award, PO Box 673 North Sydney 2060 or fax to 02 9955 5911. Entries close January 10, 2011 and terms and conditions apply.
