Commenting on the results, Malcolm Talbot, Managing Director for St.George Bank WA said: "These results show solid momentum for St.George Bank in WA we've continued our deposit and lending growth, maintained high customer satisfaction and achieved excellent customer retention and growth.
"This year, St.George settled on a total of $1.9 billion of home loans in WA alone, which meant we were able to assist many West Australians with new home loans or refinancing their mortgage," said Mr Talbot.
"WA continues to be a major focus for St.George. Our recent branch expansion saw branch numbers increase from 1 in 2006 to 8 in 2009 and we're planning to add further staff to meet customer and business demand," said Mr Talbot.
St.George Bank also recently announced a new corporate restructure based on geographical regions with new Managing Directors appointed to each State. Mr Talbot said the new restructure will ensure all regions and states are directly represented on the St.George Bank Executive team and will bring WA customers even closer to senior management decision making.
"This is about being closer to our customers and local communities. Enhancing customer relationships by region will allow St.George to provide the most responsive, tailored and personalised service in the WA market," said Mr Talbot.
St.George Bank has continued its commitment to supporting local communities in WA by way of brand sponsorships including the Claremont Football Club and Mandurah Crab Festival.
