Airservices Australia Selects Quintiq for Rostering

MELBOURNE, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

Australia's air navigation services provider, Airservices Australia, has selected Quintiq as its new workforce

planning solution.

Airservices has air traffic controllers working from two major centres in Melbourne and Brisbane, four

terminal control units and 26 towers at international and regional airports. Airservices will use the Quintiq

solution for its operational air traffic management workforce. Fatigue management, shift assignments, training

and qualifications are all requirements for Airservices to meet in creating their air traffic controller rosters.

Airservices also provides Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) services at 21 of the nation's busiest

airports. Following the roll-out to air traffic control areas, ARFF will move from existing manual planning to

Quintiq intelligent rostering over time. Staff preferences, skills, qualifications, requirements for training and

meeting times, mandated safety requirements, planned and unplanned leave, work agreement conditions,

equitable shifts and sector assignments will all be taken into account to develop an optimal roster for these

staff.

"We selected Quintiq because of the quality of their product which has a good fit against our requirements,"

said Greg Russell, CEO of Airservices Australia. "We are looking forward to this partnership with Quintiq to

help us achieve more efficient use of our resources."

"We are very pleased to have Airservices Australia join our growing number of air traffic control clients. We

look forward to making this a successful project for them as we strive towards our goal of becoming the

number one rostering solution in the industry," Victor Allis, Quintiq CEO.

Quintiq will begin implementing the solution in November, with completion of the phased roll out due in the

first half of 2010.
