Ansaldo STS wins 37 million AUD Long Island Railroad Contract
Ansaldo STS has received a
contract from the Long Island Railroad for the Long Island
Railroad Harold and Point Central Instrument Location’s Interlocking project. The contract
value is 36.6 million AUD.
This project, part of the Long Island Railroad East Side Access program, replaces the
current vital
relay-based interlocking control system with a MicroLok II vital
microprocessor-based system.
This switch to a microprocessor-based technology follows the success of other
upgrades Ansaldo STS has implemented for the Long Island Railroad using the MicroLok
II platform, including the Wood, Jamaica, and Amityville and Wantagh interlockings.
