AUSTRALIAS CHIKO CHICK ANNOUNCED
Chiko, one of the countrys most recognised brands, is proud to announce that 20 year old Jade
Ormiston from St Leonards, NSW has been crowned Australias next Chiko Chick.
The down-to-earth blonde was discovered after a three month-long nationwide search via
chiko.com.au.
More than 1000 participated in the competition that was shortlisted to six finalists by a team of judges
including some of Australias most respected creative and fashion experts.
Weve spent the last three months searching through heaps of fantastic entries trying to find girls that
are fun, active and quintessentially Australian, said Chiko Marketing Manager, Richard Laffy.
Jade and five fellow finalists were flown to Byron Bay last month to shoot the very first Chiko Chick
calendar, which features some great images of the girls enjoying the sun, beach and surf culture.
I am so excited to be crowned Australias next Chiko Chick, Ormiston said. Chiko is such an iconic
Australian brand synonymous with long, hot summers at the beach. Its a brand that I not only have
grown up with, but a brand my parents grew up with too.
Marketing Manager for Chiko Roll, Richard Laffy, said that the response to the competition
in its
second year of running has been overwhelming. It has truly highlighted Australians love of the brand
and in particular our fondness for what Chiko represents fun, cheekiness and a passion for the great
outdoors.
Jade will receive cash and prizes, and its proposed that she will represent the Chiko brand for the next
12 months.

About the Chiko Chick
The Chiko Roll is an Australian icon. Since its first appearance at the Wagga Wagga Show in 1951, Chiko has
become a favourite for generations of Australians. Over 16 million Chiko Rolls are served in more than 6,000
outlets nationwide. For over 50 years the Chiko Chick has represented the brand and has become as significant in
the Australian psyche as the product itself.
In 2008, Chiko Chick hopefuls attended casting sessions along the eastern seaboard, trying their luck to impress the
professional judging panel and become the representative of the much loved Aussie brand. The popularity and
success of the 2008 search has led Chiko to once again embark on the search to find the next Chiko Chick.
