Australia Medic Alert Foundation Announces New CEO

The Australia Medic Alert Foundation,

the national not-for-profit organisation that provides

a

24 hour personal

emergency

medical information and identification service

is pleased to announce the appointment of new Chief

Executive Officer, Ms Sandra Turner.

Sandra commenced her role in late November and she comes to the Foundation with a long background in the

healthcare industry. With experience in nursing, sales and marketing and communications, Sandra is well equipped to

lead the Australia Medic Alert Foundation into the future.

Most recently Sandra has been working in the pharmaceutical industry and has experience in areas including

oncology, haematology and allergy.

A graduate of the University of South Australia (Bachelor of Business) and Charles Sturt University (Master of Arts),

Sandra is looking to continue her close relationship with the healthcare industry and is eager to lead her team to best

assist Foundation members.

Sandra’s appointment comes at a time where there is an increasing emphasis of the importance of the provision of

timely, accurate and up-to-date patient information in times of emergency. It is the ability to access accurate

information regarding a patient’s medical problems as soon as possible that can save a life. The MedicAlert® system

assists this to occur.

“I’m pleased to have joined such a long-established and well-respected organisation

that helps save lives,” said

Sandra.

“The four part MedicAlert® system has been in Australia for almost 40 years and the close association the

Foundation has established with emergency healthcare providers around Australia is an indication of the high level of

confidence healthcare professionals have in the MedicAlert® system.

“I’m eager to lead the Foundation into the future and look forward to being able to continually improve the service

and education we provide for current and future members and service providers across Australia,” Sandra said.

The Australia Medic Alert Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation and was established in Australia in 1971 by

Rotary and the St John Council. The Foundation provides a cost-effective and comprehensive service for members

incorporating an internationally recognised emblem

(worn as a bracelet or necklet), a secure 24 hour emergency

hotline, a confidential national registry and a 24 hour emergency-assist membership card.

Anyone wanting more information about joining MedicAlert® can call 1800 882 222.
