Marvell (Nasdaq: MRVL), a worldwide leader in integrated silicon

solutions, today announced that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger

visited its Shanghai operation as part of his three-nation Asia trade

mission. The Governor, who launched his Asia Trade Mission on Wednesday at

Marvell's Silicon Valley headquarters, is engaging in high-level business and

political meetings in China, Japan and South Korea in order to promote

expanded trade cooperation between the region and the state of California. As

California is home to many of the world's top technology, information,

consumer and entertainment companies, the Governor is showcasing companies

like Marvell that have significant operations both in the state of California

and throughout Asia. Besides its U.S. headquarters in Silicon Valley, Marvell

has a large and growing presence at Shanghai's Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, has a

design center in Japan and additional operations in Korea. Marvell

co-founders Weili Dai and Sehat Sutardja traveled with the Governor on the

three-nation tour.

"It is my passion to work to bridge my two homelands - China and the U.S.

-

and try to promote cooperation and economic growth in both powerful

nations, particularly in the areas of semiconductor, communications,

education and green technologies," said Weili Dai, Marvell's Shanghai-born

co-founder. "For that reason, I am very proud that the Governor chose to

launch his Asia Trade Mission from Marvell's Silicon Valley campus and then a

few days later, visited our Shanghai design center. I am also proud that

Shanghai government officials were able to join Governor Schwarzenegger in

highlighting the exciting new developments at our Shanghai design center. It

is an honor that reflects well on Marvell's global leadership and growing

industry influence."

Marvell provides an appropriate symbol of the Governor's trade mission

objectives. In 1995, Marvell was started by three University of California,

Berkeley graduates. Today, the company is the third-largest fabless

storage, the backbone of the global networked economy. Marvell has made a

major commitment to the China market, and has achieved notable success in its

co-development of the TD-SCDMA phone standard - the China standard for mobile

phones.

During his visit, the Governor toured demonstrations of Marvell's latest

communications, computing and consumer technology and presided over the

dedication of the expansion plans at the company's Shanghai Zhangjiang

facilities, including the plans for a three-way research consortium between

Marvell, China's prestigious Tsinghua University and the University of

California Berkeley. Additionally, Marvell announced its support of the

Governor's Executive Order to promote integration of advanced technologies in

early education with a donation of eReaders and tablets to PS7 Middle School,
