Clinton Global Initiative Important Announcement by WISeKey and Microsoft

NEW YORK, Sept. 22/PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

    - WISeKey and Microsoft Cooperate to Empower Biscay Citizens by

Transforming Local Government Services

WISeKey, a leading IT security company, and Microsoft, announced at the

Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) meeting that they had successfully worked

with the Biscay government to launch a next-generation citizen services

platform (CSP).

When citizens log on to the Biscay portal, they no longer have to go

through a vast variety of links, pages and web sites: the Biscay Citizen

Services Platform is customized across governmental departments, meeting the

specific needs of the citizen and protecting their privacy.

This cutting-edge approach takes complex citizen identity management

systems, government services and e-government portals and packages them in an

accessible and functional manner, allowing citizens to independently use the

services and tools that governments such as Biscay provide.

"In Biscay, we look forward to a future where the benefits of the WISeKey

and Microsoft CSP technology become increasingly accessible to all citizens,

allowing them to securely interact with and make use of government services,"

said Jose Luis Bilbao, Biscay President.

"The Biscay Citizen Services Platform clearly demonstrates our commitment

to using secure electronic identities to globally empower citizens. We have

seen both citizens and governments benefit from this technology, and we work

tirelessly in both developed and developing markets to ensure that our

technologies empower citizens and other stakeholders in innovative and

meaningful ways," stated Carlos Moreira, WISeKey CEO & Chairman.

Niels Soelberg, Vice-President Public Sector EMEA Microsoft said, "We are

very happy with our cooperation with WISeKey and the Biscay government on

this new CSP, allowing the citizens to interact securely and efficiently with

their government and giving them the tools to transform society in the

process."

WISeKey maintains its ongoing commitment to make this technology a

reality for countries across the world by working with organizations such as

the CGI, the World Economic Forum Global Growth Companies community, the

Association of International Mobility and the OISTE Foundation.
