Coffey appoints John Mulcahy as Non-executive Director


Global professional services consultancy Coffey International Limited (ASX:COF) today announced

the appointment of Dr John Mulcahy as an independent Non-executive Director of Coffey International

Limited, effective immediately.


The appointment of Dr Mulcahy as an additional independent Non-executive Director was

foreshadowed at last year’s Annual General Meeting to strengthen the company’s corporate

governance profile by increasing the number of non-executives with appropriate skills on the board.


As part of this plan the Company also announced the resignation of Executive Director Dr Glen

Simpson who has contributed strongly as a director for the past nine years.


Coffey Chairman Stephen Williams said that, on behalf of Coffey shareholders, he welcomed John to

the Board of Coffey.

specialist knowledge to solve emerging challenges and improve the lives of communities. 


“John brings a depth of corporate experience in financial and property investment services and

knowledge spanning a range of sectors. The Board looks forward to his contribution as an

independent Non-executive Director.”


Commenting on his appointment, John said he was delighted to be joining Coffey.

well-positioned to increase growth globally. I am confident that my skills and experience complement

those of my fellow Directors and I look forward to working with them to drive organic company growth

and responsibly increase shareholder value.”


John is a Guardian of the Future Fund Management Agency. The Future Fund was established by the

Future Fund Act 2006 to assist future Australian governments meet the cost of public sector

superannuation liabilities by delivering investment returns on contributions to the Fund. The Fund

currently has over $60 billion in funds under management.


John has more than 27 years’ management experience in financial and property investment. He was

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Suncorp for six years. Prior to Suncorp, John held a

number of senior executive roles in the Commonwealth Bank, including Group Executive, Investment

and Insurance Services. He also held a number of senior roles during 14 years at Lend Lease

Corporation, including Chief Executive Officer, Lend Lease Property Investment, and Chief Executive

Officer, Civil and Civic.


John holds a Doctorate in Philosophy in Civil Engineering and is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers.
