COLES DOUBLES FUEL DISCOUNT TO HELP AUSTRALIAN FAMILIES
8 cents off a litre could knock $4 off cost of filling an average car
In a week when many Aussie households have been forced to rethink their finances, Coles has
moved quickly to help by doubling its popular fuel discount, cutting the cost of motoring for millions
of customers.
The double discount means that anyone who spends $30 in a single transaction at Coles* before the
end of November will receive 8 cents off every litre of fuel instead of the standard 4 cents. Coles
calculates that this could shave $4 off the cost of filling up an average car.**
General Manager of Coles Express, Peter Short, said: We know that many Aussie households are
feeling the strain. Increased energy bills and now the prospect of higher mortgage and borrowing
costs will worry customers as they head in to Christmas which is already an expensive time of year
for families.
Coles wants its customers to enjoy Christmas and we hope this offer will help them to do so
without worrying quite so much about how they are going to pay for it all.
In addition to the 8 cents double discount from Coles, customers who spend $2 in Coles Express
stores will continue to receive an extra 2 cents off per litre making the total saving possible 10 cents
per litre. Coles Express has more than 620 petrol forecourts around the country.

*Includes Coles Online, BI-LO and Pickn Pay but excludes Coles Express. The double discount
applies to qualifying transactions between 5 November and 30 November 2010. Fuel discount
vouchers are valid for 4 weeks from date of issue.
**$4 estimated saving based on a 50 litre car fuel tank.
