Darren Steinberg Appointed Capital Markets Division Chair

Darren Steinberg has been appointed Chair of the Property Council's International and Capital Markets Division.

Mr Steinberg is Head of Property at Colonial First State Global Asset Management, and a Board member of the Property Council.

Mr Steinberg takes over the role from Mark Ford, Chairman Cbus Property.

"We're delighted to have a leader of Darren's standing to take the Division forward and build on Mark's impressive achievements," says executive director of the International and Capital Markets Division, Roberto Fitzgerald.

Mr Ford was appointed as the inaugural Division Chair in 2005 and has been a major driver of the formation, evolution and unparalleled success of the Property Council's specialist capital markets division.

"The Division has secured vital tax and regulatory policy wins in the past five years under Mark's leadership," says Mr Fitzgerald.

"Mark remains active with the Property Council and will be instrumental in the Property Council's 2015 strategy, which will be launched at Congress next month," says Mr Fitzgerald. The Property Council has also appointed Mr Craig Mitchell as Vice Chair of the International and Capital Markets Division.

Mr Mitchell is Chief Financial Officer at DEXUS Property Group, and chairs the Property Council's CFO Roundtable.

"These appointments will ensure the Division continues its delivery of an ambitious reform agenda to enhance Australian property funds global competitiveness," says Mr Fitzgerald.
