Deutsche Bank Expands Natural Resources and Infrastructure Teams With Six New Joiners

New Managing Director and Head of Metals and Mining Richard Gannon has joined Deutsche Bank in Melbourne, capping off a successful hiring phase for the Natural Resources and Infrastructure teams with six new additions this month.

Gannon has 14 years of investment banking experience focusing on the resources sector. Most recently he was the Head of the Natural Resources Group for Macquarie Bank based in Europe.

Head of Corporate Finance, Scott Perkins, said, "Richard's appointment accelerates the momentum we have in the team right now. He brings established client relationships and a proven track record to Deutsche Bank having worked on numerous multi-billion dollar transactions in London. Our Natural Resources and Infrastructure coverage groups have had significant deal flow in the last 12 months and we're looking to our new recruits to complement our existing team members, with cross-border M&A and financing driving activity."

In addition to Gannon's appointment, Ben Macdonald has joined as a Vice President based in Melbourne. He has experience as both a financial and legal adviser, whilst new Associate James Hou's experience includes working in Beijing in the natural resources area and in Sydney for the DUET Group.

Aidan Murphy, Erik Du Plessis and Nima Alexander have also joined in August as Analysts.

Deutsche Bank has continuously invested in the investment banking advisory platform demonstrating its ongoing commitment to the local and global development of its Natural Resources and Infrastructure teams.

Head of Natural Resources and Infrastructure, Cameron Robertson, said, "These hires are in addition to Ankur Ajmera, Shanthar Pathmanathan, Gaurav Sharma and Matthew Pawluk who have also joined the team this year, taking the total new joiners for the year to ten."
