Far East Energy Announces 2009 Annual Meeting and Management Staff Addition

Far East Energy Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: FEEC) announced today that its 2009 Annual Meeting of
Stockholders will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., local time, at the Hilton Houston North,
12400 Greenspoint Drive, Houston, Texas. The Board of Directors have established Wednesday, June 3,
2009, as the record date for determining stockholders of record entitled to notice of, and to vote at, the 2009
Annual Meeting of Stockholders.
In addition, Far East announced today that Bruce N. Huff, former CFO of the Company, has re-joined Far
East Energy as Vice President Capital Development reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and
President effective April 15, 2009. Michael R. McElwrath, CEO and President said, "I could not be more
pleased to have Bruce back on board. He is a seasoned professional who is highly respected and a man of
great integrity. Far East Energy and its stockholders will benefit greatly from his experience."
Mr. Huff originally joined Far East Energy in May 2004 as Chief Financial Officer and served in that capacity
until his resignation in September 2007. He was previously employed by Harken Energy for a period of 13
years, holding positions including President, Chief Financial Officer and Director. Throughout his career Mr.
Huff has been responsible for a wide range of functions including strategic planning.
