Freelancer.com Surpasses Half a Million Outsourcing Projects
SYDNEY, Nov. 9 /Medianet International-AsiaNet/ --
FreelancerTM, formerly known as GetAFreelancer, the world's top freelance jobs micro-outsourcing
marketplace, today announced that over 500,000 freelance jobs have been posted to date through the website.
"Our growth in job postings has been phenomenal", said Matt Barrie, Chief Executive of Freelancer. "We are
proud to have connected so many employers with freelance service providers from around the world."
Freelancer connects over one million employers and freelancers globally. Through our website, employers can
hire freelancers to do work in areas such as software, writing, data entry and design right through to engineering
and the sciences, sales and marketing, and accounting & legal services. Freelancer is the leader in the micro-
outsourcing market, with the average job size being under US$200. This is extremely cost effective for small
businesses, which often need a wide variety of jobs to be done, but cannot justify the expense of hiring full time.
Some of the recent jobs include the design of an outdoor restaurant (38 bids, average bid US$201), an iPhone
application for streaming videos (average bid US$610), and corporate identity development which included logo
design, leaflet and a simple website for a weddings business (24 bids, average bid US$217).
Over 500,000 jobs have been posted to date, for a sum of over US$45 million.
