IGA SUPERMARKETS PROVIDE $120,000 AID TO SAMOAN 
EARTHQUAKE TSUNAMI VICTIMS 
 
The 1,300 IGA supermarkets across Australia will donate $120,000 worth of urgently needed  
groceries and essential household supplies to victims of the devastating earthquake tsunami in  
Samoa. 
 
The donation will equal approximately 50 pallets of dry groceries and other essential items. 
 
Mr Mick Daly, National IGA Retailer Chairman said, IGA plays an active role in their local 
communities and our retailers and distribution partner have acted immediately, using the 
groups successful national Community Chest program to help the cause, and provide 
emergency relief to assist those affected by the earthquake tsunami. 
IGA extends its condolences to the communities affected by the tsunami, which has caused 
large scale devastation in the southern region of Samoa, he said. 
As a community oriented business, we see it is our role to respond to disasters of this nature.  
 
I am very proud of our IGA supermarkets across Australia who have thrown their support 
behind this and we hope it will go some way towards helping the communities affected.
