ISG Announces Agreements with Chinese Government
STAMFORD, Conn., May 15 /PRNewswire/ --
Business unit TPI to advise Chinese Ministry of Commerce and
China Council for International Investment Promotion on expanding IT and
business process outsourcing
Information Services Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: III, IIIIU, IIIIW), an
industry-leading, information-based services company, today announced that
its business unit TPI, the largest sourcing data and advisory firm in the
world, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese
Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and strengthened its relationship with the
China Council for International Investment Promotion (CCIIP) by entering into
a strategic cooperation agreement.
Under the agreements, TPI will advise MOFCOM and CCIIP on accelerating
the growth of the country's emerging IT and business process outsourcing
sectors. TPI will assist MOFCOM and CCIIP with their efforts to expand and
enhance the pool of talent in China, nurture globally competitive service
providers and attract business from multinational companies. In addition,
MOFCOM and CCIIP will assist TPI with promoting its growing capabilities in
China to industry participants.
"The China Council for International Investment Promotion is pleased that
TPI is working with us to promote development of the outsourcing industry in
China," said Madam Zhou Ming, Executive Vice President and Secretary General,
CCIIP. "As the leading sourcing advisor around the world, TPI's presence
confirms the increasing importance of China in the global outsourcing
industry. We expect TPI's knowledge and balanced view of both service
providers and service buyers to help move outsourcing in China to the next
level."
Said Michael Rehkopf, TPI Partner and Head of TPI China: "Working with
CCIIP as well as MOFCOM, we will help strengthen both the buy and sell sides
of the Chinese outsourcing industry. We believe these efforts will increase
the confidence of multinational companies to look to China to meet their
sourcing needs."
The agreements underscore TPI's leadership globally and in the
fast-growing Asia-Pacific region as well as its reputation for deep knowledge
of the global outsourcing industry. Last month, TPI formally launched in
China with the opening of its Hangzhou-based Training and Assessment Center,
which will address the growing demand for information products and advisory
services from both buyers and sellers of outsourcing in the region.
"These agreements with the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and CCIIP
represent another important step for TPI, which founded the sourcing advisory
industry 20 years ago," said Michael P. Connors, Chairman and CEO of ISG. "We
are honored to play a role in the development of what we think will be a
vital market for outsourcing in the future. We look forward to working with
both organizations to achieve their goals for this promising and important
sector."
