Leighton Contractors Enhances Health Care Capability With Acquisition of Adesse Facility Management Business

Leighton Contractors has bolstered its commitment to servicing the health care and social infrastructure sector by acquiring the business and assets of Adesse's facility management operations. The acquisition does not include the purchase of the Adesse name or its other business operations.

Adesse has extensive experience in facility management, essential services maintenance, engineering and project management in the health and aged care sector. It currently has a number of long-term facilities management contracts in and around Melbourne and employs 20 people.

Peter Hicks, General Manager of Leighton Contractors Investment and Facility Management Division said the acquisition was another step in the company's strategy to enhance its capabilities in this growing area.

"We are targeting a number of major health care opportunities, including Melbourne's Parkville Comprehensive Cancer Centre and the new Royal Adelaide Hospital and this acquisition complements our already strong construction and financing capability," Mr Hicks said.

"Leighton Contractors is uniquely positioned to offer clients a fully integrated solution covering design, construction, financing and long-term operations and maintenance.

"Our integrated approach makes economic sense, and creates better value for clients over the life of their assets.

"Our expertise and knowledge of the health care sector enables us to transform our client's ideas into facilities that create a healthier working environment and better patient outcomes," he said.

The acquired business will integrate with Leighton Contractors' Investment and Facility Management Division which earlier this year secured the long-term facility management contract for seven schools in South East Queensland.

The Division's capabilities also include Menette, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leighton Contractors, that provides healthcare consultancy and facility management services.
