PRESS RELEASE

20 October 2009

WALKER CORPORATION SIGNS UP MAJOR COMPANIES

FOR $100 MILLION MONARO PROJECT

The ACT’s first masterplanned industrial estate – Monaro Industrial Park – has

attracted two major companies from Queanbeyan to become occupants in the $100

million industrial development.

Created by one of Australia’s leading property development groups, Walker

Corporation, the estate has attracted major listed infrastructure group Downer EDI

Ltd and local freight transporter, Innaimo Transport.

Downer EDI is moving its manufacturing facility from Queanbeyan to Monaro and will

purchase from Walker 21,175 square metres of land to build its new facility, which is

expected to open in mid 2010.

The Queanbeyan-based freight group Innaimo Transport is also making the move to

ACT with the purchase of 5,000 square metres of land from Walker to construct a

2,000 square metre driver facility and office complex.

The company will use Monaro Industrial Park as a transport hub for softdrinks,

whitegoods and electrical items across Southern NSW and the ACT.

The purchases follow Grace Records Management (Grace Records) recently signing

on to be the foundation tenant in the industrial estate south of Canberra’s CBD.

The 30 hectare Monaro Industrial Park is located on the Monaro Highway in Hume

and has received development approval from the ACT Government.

Walker’s construction of Grace Records’ facility will commence next month, with the

5,600 square metre warehouse, truck parking bays and roads complete by March,

2010.

Chairman of Walker Corporation, Lang Walker, will be in Canberra on Tuesday 20

October 2009 to officially launch Monaro Industrial Park.

Mr Walker said “The creation of this exciting industrial estate is already providing

significant benefits to the ACT economy, attracting companies across the border from

NSW.

“These companies have made a long-term commitment to the ACT and we expect

the estate will generate hundreds of jobs during the construction process and in the

long term”, he added.

One of the major attractions of the Monaro Industrial Park is its proximity to the

Monaro Highway, providing links to all areas of the ACT and NSW regional centres.

Walker has a range of industrial lots available through Colliers International – with

blocks for sale from 5,000 square metres to 20,000 square metres, and lease options

starting from 2,500 square metres.

Mr Paul Powderly of Colliers International, said “The Monaro estate is proving to be

very popular with major companies as it is just five kilometres from the centre of

Canberra and being developed by arguably Australia’s most successful and

professional property developer, Walker Corporation.

“Walker’s certainty of delivery and financial stability is giving purchasers and tenants

great security in moving their operations to the ACT”, he concluded.
