LOUNGE AROUND WITH VIRGIN BLUE IN PERTH!
NEW LOUNGE OPEN FOR BUSINESS IN WA
NOTE: Official Opening 6pm this evening
Perth Domestic Airport
Ground Floor
Thursday 4 February 2010: The much anticipated Virgin Blue The Lounge is now open for business at Perth
Airport, signalling a new, convenient and comfortable era for business and leisure Guests
travelling to and from
West Australia.
Plans for the airline to build a brand new 500 square metre lounge facility were announced last year following
overwhelming support from Virgin Blue business Guests in particular, for a corporate lounge.
The Lounge has seating capacity for over 120 Guests and will be officially opened this evening at 6pm with a
cocktail party for VIP Guests to showcase the new offering.
Virgin Blue Chief Executive, Brett Godfrey, said: This evenings formal opening is timed to coincide with the return
to work of the business market and the ongoing momentum of the resource sector. It is the continued support of
WA based business travellers
and mining industry community, together with their east coast counterparts
travelling across the Nullabor regularly, that was the catalyst for this significant investment.
While its been a long time coming, we are pleased travellers now have a fantastic lounge to work or relax in
whether they are travelling during the day or on one of the evening flights after a long day on the job.
Brett Godfrey added, The team at Weststralia Airport Corporation (WAC) has been a great partner, working
closely with our team in the mutual quest to further enhance services at Perth Airport.
West Australia has been a core focus for the Virgin Blue team over the past 12 months, with new intrastate flights
between Perth and Karratha, Port Hedland and Newman and additional Broome services.
The Lounge in Perth is located on the ground floor of the Virgin Blue terminal, immediately through the security
screening point and is the sixth Virgin Blue The Lounge facility to be opened throughout Australia. It provides a
range of services for both business and leisure travellers, including business facilities for those who want to
continue working while they are on the move, as well as a range of options to sit back and relax in front of either
HD plasma TVs, or catch up on the latest news and gossip from a selection of newspapers and magazines.
