Otis Expands China Operations: New Facility to Be Built in Chongqing
CHONGQING, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
Otis Elevator Company President Didier Michaud-Daniel announced plans for a new Otis manufacturing
facility in Chongqing, reaffirming the company's commitment to expanding operations in China. Otis is a unit of
United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
"We are delighted to build upon our longstanding and vast presence in China with construction of the
Chongqing factory and distribution center in western China," said Michaud-Daniel. "This facility will serve as a
valuable new resource for meeting our customers' needs throughout Asia."
Otis has finalized agreements to begin building the facility in Chongqing's New North Zone (CNNZ) in mid-
2010. It will be designed to incorporate environmentally friendly technologies and processes. The facility will
serve as a manufacturing and distribution center for Otis' highly advanced elevator and escalator systems,
including energy-efficient products.
