"The Board chose Mark Langley for his keen strategic insights regarding building member and organization

value, formulating and leading operational vision, strategy and direction, and for his energy and passion for project

management," said Eugene Bounds, PMP, chair of PMI's Board of Directors. "He will build on the Board's overall

strategic direction and provide executive leadership to advance PMI as the largest and most influential project

Langley joined PMI as director of finance and administration and was promoted in the same year to executive

vice president and COO. He has nearly 30 years of experience in strategic planning, global business, association

management, operations and financial management. During his tenure, Langley has been instrumental in growing

worldwide membership and credential holders and in driving PMI's regional development.

Prior to joining the organization, he served as CFO for ChemLogix and has held senior leadership positions with

AssetTRADE.com, Quala Systems, Inc. and Castle Energy Corp. Langley began his career at

PricewaterhouseCoopers (now PwC) and is a Certified Public Accountant.

"I am extremely pleased that PMI's Board has shown the confidence in me to expand the growth and relevance

of not only PMI, but the key role project and program management brings to delivering successful results for

organizations globally," said Langley. "I look forward to enhancing our strategic relationships with businesses and

governments, broadening our network of practitioners, while continuing to support a passionate and dedicated

volunteer community."

"As we move into our fifth decade, PMI envisions a future where organizations increasingly embrace project

management as critical to their success," added Bounds. "Mark Langley understands that project management is

an essential element, not only in times of economic recovery, but for the long term as well. We are confident that he

will steer PMI towards continued excellence and greater advocacy for qualified project, program and portfolio

managers around the globe. His tireless commitment to our volunteer leaders, members, chapters and the
