Receivers appointed to trio of tourist resorts
Mariner Leisure Management Pty Limited and Mariner Coastal Operations Pty
Limited Placed Into Receivership
The operators of the Mariner Coastal Investment Fund have been placed into receivership
today, with Paul Billingham and Said Jahani of Grant Thornton appointed as Receivers and
Managers of Murramarang Resort, Myall Shores Resort, and Nestle Inn Tourist Village.
Offering a range of accommodation including villas, cabins and campsites - the two eco-
resorts in NSW and Nestle Inn in Brisbane are expected to carry on trading as normal while
the Receivers review selling options. Existing guest bookings are expected to be honoured
with all staff at the three resorts likely to remain in their roles.
Paul Billingham commented:
It is in everyones interests for these resorts to carry on business as usual, and we wish to
reassure guests in particular that their stays should be entirely unaffected. Our priorities are
to preserve the strong visitor experience offered by these properties and to assess likely
market interest in the resorts.
The Nestle Inn Tourist Inn is a freehold site which we expect will attract considerable
attention given its proximity to the Brisbane CBD. As the two eco resorts are located
within NSW National Parks we will be working closely with the relevant authorities to
ensure that they continue to be properly managed while we identify appropriate purchasers
for the leasehold interests.
