Repected Chisholm Manager Retires
Chisholm Institute recently said bon voyage to highly regarded and long serving Administration and
Customer Service Manager Di Saunders after 41 years in the education sector.
Dis significant contribution to Administration and Customer Service training since joining Chisholm
in 1982 both within Chisholm and at statewide level was acknowledged by a large gathering at
Chisholm Frankstons Bunurong Restaurant.
A teacher in the secondary system between 1968 and 1981, Dis contribution during her time at
Chisholm has included
a strong commitment to the areas of business administration, legal
practice, retail and customer service.
Ive also led many networks, including the statewide Administrative Studies Management network
and was a VCE chief examiner (VET Business) for many years, she said.
Working with so many wonderful students and colleagues, establishing and developing Chisholm
Publishing and seeing a number of student Virtual Enterprise Firms established and flourish are
among her many highlights.
Chisholm Publishing developed
from printing off lecture notes into a
high quality publishing arm
producing teaching and learning resources, Di explained. Its been really successful.
The Virtual Enterprise Firms, in which students experience an holistic view of running a business,
is yet another different form of teaching and one Im extremely proud of.
Additionally, she notes, the training flexibility available to Administration and Customer Service
students is fantastic. People can study online, in class or by distance education.
Chisholms Deputy CEO Maria Peters said that Di can be proud of her achievements and
professional record within the Institute and the sector.
Di has always made an impression because of the passion and strong commitment to the areas
of business administration, legal practice, retail and customer service, Maria notes.
As a manager, she has nurtured a committed and professional group of staff focussed on
supporting students to achieve their goals. She has led her department to ensure the education and
training offered by Chisholm is exemplary and of industry standard.
I wish her continued rewards, ongoing success and personal fulfilment in the next stage of her
journey.
