Retail Guru wins WA Entrepreneur of the Year 2009
Professional speaker and business coach John Stanley has won the 2009 Western Australian
Entrepreneur of the Year Award and also the Business of the Year Award for Educational
Services.
The award is sponsored by Ernst & Young, who describe it as the world’s most prestigious
business award for entrepreneurs. Previous winners include Dr Patricia Kaillis, Gordon Martin
and Gerard Neesham.
John Stanley Associates helps clients identify retail trends as they are incubating and he
motivates those involved in the retailing industry. John’s background is in perishable retailing
which includes food, plants, flowers and pets. He’s trained people in 25 countries. This year
alone; India, Malaysia, Italy, Poland, the U.K. and the U.S.
John and his wife Linda are also active locally in conservation and in the Kalamunda Farmers
Market.
John is a CSP (Certified Speaking Professional) with the National Speakers Association of
Australia (NSAA). CSP is the highest level of accreditation offered by the Association in Australia,
with only around 60 people meeting the performance criteria.
President of the WA Chapter of NSAA, David Koutsoukis, says that many professional trainers
use public speaking as a way of driving new business.
