MEDIA RELEASE PR40026
RISI Launches New Portuguese Edition to Cover Pulp and Paper Markets and Prices in
Latin America
SAO PAULO, June 16 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
RISI, the leading information provider for the global forest products industry,
today launched a Portuguese-language edition of PPI Latin America, a weekly
newsletter that reports on pulp and paper markets in Latin America.
PPI Latin America is used by professionals in the pulp and paper industry
to stay on top of market news; track prices currently being paid for key
grades of wood pulp, recovered paper, packaging paper and board, newsprint,
and printing and writing papers; and better understand issues that are
impacting regional and global markets.
"Brazil is the center of the pulp and paper industry in Latin America,
and our customers here have come to rely on PPI Latin America to help them do
their jobs better," noted Renata Mercante, editor. "Though a large percentage
of businesspeople in Brazil speak English, we are pleased to offer this
critical intelligence to all market participants in Brazil."
Mike Coffey, RISI CEO, commented, "With the opening of our São Paulo
office in 2006 RISI made a strong commitment to serving customers in the
Latin American pulp and paper industry. Since then we have launched PPI Latin
America in English, held annual Latin American Outlook Conferences and more
than doubled our Sao Paulo staff. This Portuguese version of PPI Latin
America is one more example of our continued interest in this region."
Latin America has become a key exporter of pulp used for the production
of paper and packaging in Europe and Asia, and is expected to exhibit faster
growth in market pulp capacity over the next 10 years than any other region
in the world.
PPI Latin America in Portuguese is available for the list price of 1,297
BRL (approx 715 USD) for a one-year subscription of 48 issues, delivered
online. A 30-day free trial is available. Customers can learn more and order
