MEDIA RELEASE PR 37338
Sigma Systems Expands Presence in Asia Pacific
TORONTO, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
Simon Lee named senior sales director; new sales office opened in Tokyo
Advanced IP Service Fulfillment solutions, announced today it has expanded
its sales efforts in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region by naming Simon Wai Chan
Lee the Senior Sales Director for APAC operations and opening a sales office
in Tokyo, Japan.
Lee, who oversees sales and operations in the region, is responsible for
increasing the market share of Sigma Systems' Service Management Portfolio of
fulfillment solutions
telecom and cable operators in APAC.
As the evolution to IP-based services continues and traditional service
providers transform into Next-Generation Operators
increased activity in the region from telecom and cable providers alike. The
new sales efforts enhance Sigma Systems' long-standing efforts in the APAC
region; the company has already secured a number of customers in APAC,
including Technology Networks (formerly @NetHome), Japan's largest cable
Internet provider.
The APAC expansion is another in a line of global expansion efforts Sigma
Systems has undergone over the past year. Earlier this year, Sigma announced
as well as naming a new director for the Caribbean and Latin America
EMEA-focused offices in London.
A 10-year veteran of the OSS industry, Lee has over two decades of senior
management experience, including building and managing sales teams and
channels for BEA Systems and Amdocs. Most recently, he ran regional sales in
North Asia for Oracle, where his responsibilities included selling OSS and
billing solutions into Samsung, Shanghai Telecom, China Unicom and PCCW, and
establishing partnerships with telecom equipment makers such as Huawei and
Nortel.
Based in China, Lee will drive APAC sales and business development for
Sigma Systems' fulfillment and management solutions for VoIP, broadband,
mobile, and cable TV and IPTV services. His responsibilities include leading
the strong existing Sigma teams across the region. Also, Lee will assist
Sigma's existing customers with service layer transformation projects
designed to expand their offerings to triple-play or quad-play.
"Simon's appointment is part of our ongoing commitment to build the best
regional teams possible to better serve telecom and cable operators around
the globe," said Jackie Berg, vice president of Global Sales for Sigma
Systems. "Our new office in Tokyo is a testament to the increased need for
next-gen OSS in Asia Pacific, as well as our dedication to providing superior
support to our customers in the region."
