MEDIA RELEASE PR37353
Thiess Joins Quadrem's Global eMarketplace
AMSTERDAM, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
On 13 October 2009, Thiess officially "went live" becoming a part of the Quadrem Global eMarketplace. By
joining Quadrem, Thiess becomes a viable member of a global community of more than 60 established buying
companies like BHP Billiton, Anglo American and Rio Tinto and will be able to utilise the Quadrem Global
eMarketplace to transact efficiently with more than 65,000 suppliers via one common electronic platform.
"We decided to join Quadrem because of a large, established network of suppliers, proven technology and
a strong affiliation with the mining industry, which is a large part of our business," said Ian Wade, Thiess
Executive General Manager.
"For Thiess and its participating suppliers, transacting through the eMarketplace allows for a tighter and
faster procure-to-pay process, delivering bottom-line savings due to the increased accuracy of information
being exchanged, enhanced collaboration and improved visibility," said Quadrem regional vice president in
Australia, Andrew Stafford.
Beyond the transactional procure-to-pay solution, Quadrem is also providing its electronic catalogue
platform to Thiess, allowing suppliers to publish product information directly to Thiess' buyers, creating an
efficient and enriched buying experience for Thiess' procurement professionals.
The transition to Quadrem is marking the start of Thiess' expanding electronic procurement initiative and
both companies are committed to making this another Thiess success story.
