Thomson Reuters Launches Japanese Version of ScholarOne Manuscripts

PHILADELPHIA and LONDON, May 19 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

Thomson Reuters today announced the availability of a Japanese version of the

industry-leading peer review system, ScholarOne Manuscripts (formerly Manuscript

Central), as part of their renewed partnership with Kyorinsha Co., Ltd.  The new

version offers a Japanese language interface, combined with key components in the

original system to allow for the full support capabilities users have come to expect

from ScholarOne.  This release enhances usability and information sharing for

Japanese-speaking users and supports the Thomson Reuters research workflow solution

suite for the extensive Japanese scientific community.

"ScholarOne Manuscripts recognize Japan's reputation and importance in STM

research, and this system will allow us to further support the region's output," said

Keith Collier, VP and General Manager of ScholarOne at Thomson Reuters.  "We have

been focused on supporting the Japanese research and publishing community for 6 years

and have developed a strong partnership with Kyorinsha."

"I believe that many of the Japanese-language journals in STM have been looking

forward to the release of a Japanese version of ScholarOne Manuscripts as it is a

well-established product throughout the world," said Kazumasa Watanabe, President of

Kyorinsha.  "This will contribute to the significant development of the scholarly

publishing community in Japan."

Several organizations in the region have already started using this system.  The

first user, The Japanese Society of Gastroenterological Surgery, selected ScholarOne

Manuscript's Japanese system for use in The Japanese Journal of Gastroenterological

Surgery.

"ScholarOne Manuscripts has a good reputation and a large list of clients around

the globe," said a member of editorial board.  "We're pleased that it is now

available as a localized user interface and, as a result, look forward to elevating

our published output and efficiency."

ScholarOne Manuscripts provides online manuscript submission for journals and

allows for easy administrative, editing and peer reviewing capabilities, allowing its

customers to focus on content, not on process.  With more than 365 societies and

publishers, 3,700 books and journals, 1.3 million annual submissions and 13 million

registered users, ScholarOne Manuscripts is a proven industry leader.
