TOYOTA KICKS OFF MOTOR SHOW WEEK
Toyota will exclusively preview a next-generation car on Monday that features
advanced technology designed to reduce air pollution in Sydney.
With the possibility of charging its high-tech batteries from a normal household
powerpoint, this plug-in hybrid car uses one-third less fuel and produces one-
third fewer emissions than even the cleanest cars on the roads today.
This car is in Australia to take part in a global trial, accumulating miles on local
roads and feeding data back to Toyota. As a result, this car will NOT feature at
this years Australian International Motor Show in Sydney from next Friday (15th).
However, on Monday four days ahead of the motor-show opening Toyota will
also reveal three significant show cars:
FT-86G Sports Concept: a dramatic car that previews a rear-wheel-drive
sports coupe expected on Australian roads in the next few years.
FJ Cruiser: a modern SUV with retro styling that blends Toyotas off-road
heritage with state-of-the-art power, comfort, safety and convenience.
A specially prepared HiLux: the first car to reach the magnetic North
Pole and also travelled to the heart of Icelands fiery volcano.
