Venky's First Overseas Poultry Feed Mill in South East Asia


PUNE, India, June 7 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --


    M/s. Venky's (Vietnam) Co Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of

VH Group (Venkateshwara Hatcheries), recently inaugurated construction work

on a state-of-the-art facility for the manufacture of poultry feed in the Tay

Ninh Province of Vietnam. The facility is the company's first foray into the

South East Asian market and will generate local jobs as well as provide

quality poultry feed for local farmers.


    To celebrate the construction of the new facility as well as

the entry of the VH Group into Vietnam, Dr Ch. Yagna Brahmam, Resident

Director of Venky's (Vietnam) Co. Ltd. organised a farmer's meet involving

300 local poultry farmers at Caravelle Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City.


    The event was opened by Kuldeep Singh, Acting Consul,

Consulate General of India in Vietnam. Henrique Calisto, Head Coach of the

Vietnamese National Football Team, was guest of honour and event ambassador.


    In his opening address, Mr Singh praised the potential offered

by Vietnam's vibrant economy and welcomed the VH Group to the country. Mr

Calisto told local farmers Venky's "Is a very good company and you can now

all be assured of good quality feed."


    The poultry feed facility is scheduled to become operational

by the end of 2010 and provide jobs for approximately 100 skilled and

unskilled workers in its first year of operation. When fully operational it

will produce around 4500 MTs of poultry feed per month to cater to the

requirements of poultry farmers in Vietnam.


    Venky's (Vietnam) Co. Ltd. is also planning to establish a

sophisticated poultry diagnostic laboratory in South Vietnam to provide free

diagnostic and technical services to local farmers.


    The farmer's meet attracted poultry farmers from provinces

throughout southern Vietnam as well as agri-commodity suppliers, poultry feed

dealers, Indian investors and bankers, and board of governors and members

from the Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam.

    Mr.Henrique Calisto is an experienced Portuguese football

coach who went to Vietnam in June 2001, and has since devoted tremendous

energy to Vietnamese football. He is currently Head Coach of the senior and

under-23 national football teams.
