Vertica Continues Growth and Expands Presence in Asia Pacific and Japan

Vinay E. Samuel Joins Vertica as Vice President of Asia to Strengthen Market in the East
Vertica Systems, the leading provider of next-generation software platforms for real-time analytics, today
announced the expansion of its presence in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) with the appointment of Vinay E.
Samuel, vice president of Asia. Samuel will help continue the Company's momentum, accelerate growth and build
the business across the wider Asia area.
Samuel is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in operations, IT, business development,
information management, finance and marketing. He has lead companies into new global markets while achieving
revenue goals and planning metrics. Samuel's background in introducing disruptive technologies to Asian
companies allows him to seamlessly transition his experience to Vertica and provide immediate support in this
market. His role at Vertica will be focused on growing and enhancing the Company's presence in APJ.
Prior to joining the Vertica team, Samuel was the general manager of Asia Pacific for Netezza and vice president
of Asia for Greenplum. He has experience introducing new technologies within a variety of industries including
retail, telecommunications, banking and government. In addition, he has worked for NCR Teradata, GE Capital and
was most recently CEO of GridMatics.
