Yamato Announces Start of Express Home Delivery Business in Singapore

-Asian Subsidiary to Oversee Regional Operations-
Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd. formally decided at a meeting of its Board of Directors on November 20, 2009, to
start "Takkyubin" (door-to-door delivery) business and establish a payment collection company in Singapore
as follows. Also, to strengthen regional strategy overseas, a regional management company is to take control
of operations.
I. Start of Takkyubin Business in Singapore
1. Purpose of Starting Business
Thanks to increases in the standard of living of people living in Asia
brought upon by economic growth, personal consumption is broadening to
include delivery of ordered goods, gift-giving and other services, and a
new environment is taking shape in which high-quality logistics services
are being used. Despite this, however, there are no high-quality logistics
services on par with our Takkyubin in Singapore.
By rapidly commercializing logistics services never before seen in
Singapore by focusing on the "Time Zone Delivery," "refrigerated
transport" and "payment agency" elements of our Takkyubin business
fostered in Japan over many years, we will work to increase convenience
for Singaporean people, create industry, spur employment and contribute to
the realization of a better society.

(1) Takkyubin business company

(The company name is scheduled to be changed
from Yamato Development Pte., Ltd., which is
a preparatory company established beforehand,
to the above name in December 2009.)

II. Start of Regional Management Company Overseeing Operations in Asia
1. Background
The Asian region is developing as a global production center and is
presently undergoing transformation into a major consumer region as rapid
growth continues. Much expectation is currently placed on Asia to carry
the global economy forward.
2. Start of Operational Management by Regional Management Company in ASEAN
Region (Yamato Asia Pte., Ltd.)
To facilitate the planning and execution of strategies designed for Asia
as a single market, Yamato Holdings has decided to give the function of a
regional management company in the ASEAN region to Yamato Transport (S)
Pte., Ltd., which has up until now conducted business centered on the
forwarding of import and export cargo. Moreover, as of November 20, 2009,
Yamato Transport (S) Pte., Ltd. changed its name to Yamato Asia Pte., Ltd.
By starting operational management under a regional management company,
Yamato Holdings expects to apply its proven business models to overseas
conditions and develop these businesses horizontally. It also expects to
more quickly begin providing services based on the lifestyles of local
societies.
