to deliver opening addresses for Financial Review
National Infrastructure Conference 2010
Sydney, Australia – 12 January 2010 – The Financial Review National Infrastructure
Conference 2010 today announced the participation of key federal ministers in what
has become Australia’s premier annual infrastructure event.
The Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local
Government, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP will deliver the opening address for day
one of the two day conference. The Hon Lindsay Tanner MP Minister for Finance
and Deregulation and Federal Member for Melbourne will deliver the opening
address for day two.
Day 1 - Transport Infrastructure
The Minister’s address will look at progress in meeting infrastructure and transport
challenges in eliminating capacity constraints to export growth. Additionally, the Minister
will also discuss the role of infrastructure investment in underpinning national growth and
prosperity.
Day 2 - Financing Infrastructure
The Minister’s address will focus on the role of taxation and regulatory reform
in
financing much needed national infrastructure. In the context of the Henry review of
taxation h
e addresses the challenge of risk allocation, as well as ways for the private
sector to play its role in providing and profiting from new infrastructure via
innovative models of funding.
