Industry Veteran Joins deCarta as Vice President, Mobile Business Development
SAN JOSE, Ca., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
deCarta, the leading supplier of software and services for the
Location-Based Services (LBS) industry, today announced the appointment of
Brian MacDonald as Vice President, Mobile Business Development. MacDonald
will head up deCarta's global mobile business development operations with a
dedicated team focused on strategic partnerships with mobile operators.
MacDonald joins deCarta from mywaves where he was VP, Worldwide Sales and
Distribution, selling video content and mobile advertising to mobile
operators - directly, and through, OEM channels. Prior to joining mywaves,
MacDonald was VP, Carrier Sales, at Danger and responsible for the deal with
T-Mobile US that launched the highly successful "T-Mobile Sidekick" consumer
handset. Danger was acquired by Microsoft in 2008. He has also held executive
roles at Netcom and iPass focusing on marketing and sales of data services to
major international operators. Earlier, MacDonald spent several years in
management consulting with European mobile operators at BMS (now Cap Gemini)
and later as CEO of his own UK-based software company, which he later sold to
Lotus/IBM.
