Thomson Reuters and Mecklai Financial Launch Treasury & Risk Management Diploma

Programme in India

MUMBAI, Oct. 21 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ --

Thomson Reuters today announced it has entered into an agreement with Mecklai Financial

Services Ltd to provide a Treasury and Risk Management Diploma Programme for financial

professionals in India.

The opening of this training facility at Thomson Reuters Academy in Mumbai is the first of its

kind in the city and will offer finance professionals in India access to some of the most

sophisticated and insightful risk management and treasury evaluation tools. In particular the

diploma training will give students the opportunity to fully explore enterprise-wide treasury and risk

training programmes and how these can benefit financial services business, in India and globally.

Samir Shah, Managing Director, South Asia, Thomson Reuters said: "Indian corporates, which

have been the driving force behind India's recent economic growth, are now operating in a far

more complex, connected and global market. The need for sophisticated treasury and risk

management skills, expertise and products has never been greater. Thomson Reuters are very

pleased to be partnering with Mecklai Financial in offering a diploma course to India's brightest

finance professionals as they seek to develop their knowledge in these areas."

Jamal Mecklai, CEO of Mecklai Financial, said: "The biggest problem companies face in

managing risk is the difficulty in sourcing, training and retaining skilled people who have a strong

understanding of these complex areas.  We have designed this diploma program, using our own

market practitioners as trainers, so that students will be able to access real-time information and

expertise. We are delighted to work with Thomson Reuters on this, and look forward to building

upon this relationship to continue to address this huge market need."

Thomson Reuters will provide solutions and tools to enhance the content developed by Mecklai

so that corporate Treasurers and risk-management professionals are better equipped to

understand how to use these tools in their daily operations. Thomson Reuters will also ensure

students have access to our senior market specialists as additional expert-resource for this

programme.

Finance professionals will undertake their training in a simulated learning and trading

environment, which will include expertise, skills, and knowledge at the Thomson Reuters Academy.

This will enable India's financial and corporate treasurers and risk management professionals to

connect with such areas as the global foreign exchange, debt and risk management markets.
