Unemployment Hike Sees Rise in Business Buying

With unemployment tipped to hit 7% by 2010 there has been a surge in people being made redundant and questioning what to do with their future. The maze of purchasing a business is an exciting yet daunting prospect for most people. Brisbane based firm The Mardent Group are specialists in the area of assisting their clients navigate this process.

Business buyers are traditionally left to their own devices to wade though the searching and sales process and are not supported with qualified advice independent from the selling agents. Business seekers should be well researched and completely confident before making decisions which often impact on their livelihood.

The Mardent Group are lead advisors to the under $10M small business purchasing market-place and have created a "How To Buy and Finance a Business" workshop which will be held nationwide for potential buyers. The events will provide a package of information in one place at the one time. Business buyers will have the opportunity to have their questions answered and be provided with valuable insights saving time and money in future searching.

Initial introductory two-hour seminars will touch on issues such as valuations, financing and avoiding costly mistakes, whilst the one-day workshop will go into full detail covering all aspects of the buying process.

The company often sees ill-prepared buyers with great experience in the industry they are choosing but with very little knowledge of the process of purchase. They hope that by offering these workshops, potential purchasers will save themselves thousands of dollars and hours of wasted time. A range of professional guest speakers will be giving their time to the workshop to help participants.

The Two Hour Business Buyers Seminar will provide attendees the basic tools to search for a business, including:
* Where opportunities are in the marketplace, which industries are being affected by the financial crisis and which ones to take advantage of in the situation
* How businesses are valued and which ones are worth the money
* How banks finance businesses, including franchises
* The common mistakes buyers make and how to avoid them

The One Day Business Buyers Workshop "How to Buy and Finance a Business" will equip attendees with the skills necessary to complete the purchase process confidently for the least time, effort and cost. Subjects covered during the day:
* How to value a business using different techniques
* The techniques of negotiation to give you the edge when buying
