Customer Focus Nets Prestigious Awards for Bupa Australia

Employees of leading Australian health and care company Bupa Australia which cares for its customers under the brands HBA, Mutual Community, MBF and ClearView - have made the company the most awarded Australian health insurance business at the prestigious International Customer Service Professional 2008 awards.

The international awards benchmark customer service professionals and standards across the industry, and assess nominees against criteria including leadership and service culture, training, commitment to continuous service improvement, indivdual customer service and communication skills and the professionalism of customer service employees.

In recognition of its industry leadership and commitment to putting customer needs at the centre of its operations, Bupa Australia won the Global Challenge Large Business Award, for businesses with more than 100 staff.

The company also picked up more than a dozen individual and team awards, including Gold and Silver Awards for Customer Service and Contact Centre Champions, Retail Service Gold and Silver Awards, and a Gold Award for Contact Centre Leader for 2008, the second year in a row that Bupa Australia employees have won this award. Bupa Australia Deputy Managing Director Richard Bowden congratulated all award winners and nominees for their efforts.

"Customer Service is at the heart of what Bupa Australia is all about," Mr Bowden said.

"Our commitment is to helping our customers live happier, healthier, longer lives. This is not something that our people "turn on and off" when it is awards-time. It is something we believe in and live every day.

"While these awards recognise individuals and teams who have excelled at Customer Service, the Large Business Award is a tribute to every single one of our people whose efforts help to make a positive difference to the lives of our customers and their families."

In addition to being the most awarded service provider in the Australian health insurance industry, Bupa Australia is also the only health insurance business to have achieved accreditation with the Customer Service Institute of Australia.
