online forum

Australian people managers are sharing information and professional perspectives on a new
national discussion forum set up by Australias professional HR body.
Launched in February, the site has experienced in the order of 5000 page views on discussion
topics that include:
The value of employee assistance programs
Costs of staff turnover
Policies of receiving gifts from suppliers
What is considered an average staff turnover rate?
Training night shift staff returning from maternity leave
Standards for the HR profession
Simple yet effective company induction programs
What reward and recognition policies work well?
Policies on staff officially working from home
Increasing workplace flexibility
New rules in paradise collective agreements mandatory
The site is called HRconnect to which members of the Australian Human Resources Institute
can post topics, information and discussion items. Non-members can view the discussion topics
but not post.
