Shopping isn't always a relaxing experience. It's fine if you're just pottering around the shops and happen to stumble across something you like. However, if you simply have to buy a new outfit in the allotted time then it can be quite stressful and you could easily end up buying something in the heat of the moment, only to take it home and realise it's completely unsuitable.

If this sounds like you then there is a few quick tips that might help you out when it comes to pressure shopping for women's fashion and not feeling rushed into picking out something you don't really like or that doesn't quite fit. Picture the scene: you have a friend's fortieth birthday party or a wedding coming up in a few weeks. You thought you had heaps of time to go shopping for a new outfit but time simply caught up with you and you now have just one free slot to find the perfect outfit. What do you do?

Do your research

A good way to maximize your shopping time is to have a good think in advance about the kind of outfit you want to buy. That way you won't be faced with hundreds of rails in countless shops and no way of narrowing down your selection. It might be that you already have a stunning pair of shoes that you want to wear, or maybe you have a particular color or style in mind. That's great! The more you can narrow down your options before you hit the shops, the better. That way, you can very quickly make your way down the aisles of clothes and only select dresses that fall into your criteria to try on. It also means that you won't be swayed in your decision by shopping deals unless they happen to be on the clothes you're looking for.

Pick your favorite shops

If you have shops where you know your size and you like the cut and quality of the clothes, head to these first. Work your way around the shops in order of preference and then, if you find something you like in your favorite shop, you know that you don't need to look anywhere else. If you find something suitable in a shop youre not as keen on first, then you'll still be tempted to look in other shops before making your decision.

Shop online

Online shopping can save you time and allow you to quickly and easily compare and contrast outfits from different retailers. The downside is that you can't try them on before you buy, but delivery is usually swift and you can always send back anything that doesn't fit. The trick is to buy a couple of outfits then you know that one is likely to be perfect and you can return the others. This is a good option if time is tight and you can't spare a whole day out to go to the shops. You can shop at home when you get a few minutes peace and quiet at the end of the day.
