GOLD Coast City Council has approved Devine Communities application for a $160m new residential estate on the site of a former horse stud owned by Russ Hinze. The Waverley Park estate will be built on two parcels of land in Waverley Drive, Willow Vale, which Devine Communities is in the process of acquiring for $22 million.
The estate will feature 338 residential lots, with a mixed of detached housing, terraces and 'Fonzie' flats (units built over a garage). Lots will range from 200sqm for the terrace houses, and up to 700sqm for residential lots. There will also be a large park fronting Hotham Creek.
Waverley Park will feature a range of environmentally sustainable features and extensive revegetation and landscaping is planned for the natural waterways that flow from one end of Waverley Park down to Hotham Creek.
Devine Queensland State Operations Manager Peter Ryan said Waverley Park was one of the Gold Coast's most exciting new developments.
"The Waverley Park community will provide home buyers on the Gold Coast will plenty of new opportunities to build their dream home," he said.
"It will also enhance the local neighbourhood, with residents having access to beautiful, landscaped parks with playgrounds, barbecues, pedestrian paths and bikeways.
"We look forward to working with the Gold Coast City Council in building an attractive, environmentally sustainable community that will that benefit the local region."
Located only 40 minutes from the Brisbane CBD and 35 minutes from Surfers Paradise, Willow Vale will be ideally located between the surf and the city. Access to transport will be easy, with the Coomera Railway Station 7km away and the planned Pimpama station even closer. The Pacific Motorway only a kilometre away.
Shopping and recreational facilities are just as close, with the Westfield Helensvale Shopping Centre nearby and the Gainsborough Golf Course only five kilometres away. Schools nearby include Pimpama Primary School, Ormeau Primary School, Coomera Anglican College, Upper Coomera State College, Saint Stephen's College and Livingstone Christian College.
