ROBINA TOWN CENTRE 2009 RETAIL PROPERTY OF THE YEAR
QIC's Robina Town Centre was last night crowned Queensland's Retail Property of the Year at the Property Council of Australia's new look Queensland Retail Property Awards.
The Gold Coast shopping centre won the overall prize in the Property Council of Australia's state-wide annual ceremony, ahead of some of the biggest names in Queensland shopping centres.
Property Council Executive Director, Steve Greenwood said the new look awards had attracted both a high number and calibre of entries, from all over the state.
"The standard for the 2009 Retail Property of the Year Awards was exceptionally high, which demonstrates the commitment of property management teams to the industry," Mr Greenwood said.
"As the overall winner, Robina Town Centre scored high marks on centre presentation ensuring new parts of the centre have integrated seamlessly with the old, which is an ongoing challenge for retail properties."
Mr Greenwood commented that the judges were particularly impressed with the Centre's marketing initiative, noting the recent re-positioning and brand strategy had exceeded projected outcomes and had been very well executed.
The new look 2009 Awards allow for retail properties to compete in three categories, Environmental Excellence, Marketing Initiative and Property Presentation within retail property size classifications.
