NEWS RELEASE
21st September 2009
What are your legal obligations as the owner of
a unit in a large complex?
Most owners of units only really need to talk to the body corporate when they have an issue with
their neighbours - in the trade referred to as the 3 Ps (parking, pets and parties). In reality there is
a lot more to the body corporate - certainly from a legal perspective.

making sure the building complies. There are also laws concerning protection of the environment
that now apply when it comes to building maintenance and refurbishment.
Next Thursday evening (24th September) Chermside-based Capitol Body Corporate Administration
is holding a free seminar* for unit owners whod like more information on what their
responsibilities are, some advice on how to make sure their building complies with the legislation,
and some tips on how to run a building effectively. To book a seat at the seminar or for more
